LETTER
A Few Thoughts About Fatherhood This Week
Wow, this last week flew by in a whirlwind. While we didn’t have any new articles this week, I had a few thoughts about stories in the coming weeks. In fact, I had a few coworkers at my day job tell me how much they have been enjoying the stories on The Dad Hammer Pub.
This caught me off guard as I didn’t realize how many people at my day job are reading The Pub, or anything else I write for that matter. Thank you!
As I stand at my kitchen island watching my sweet little girls interact, I was thinking over the next few weeks it would be fun to hear stories under the following ideas and topics:
Five Writing Prompts for September
- The Watchful Eye of a Father: How do you or how did your dad, watch over children. Hands on? Or hands off? The enforcer or the comforter?
- One Piece of Advise No One Told You: What is one piece of advice no one ever told you about being a father? Share it with others this month.
- How Does Your Faith Impact Your Children? Has it been positive, negative, indifferent? What do you do to share your faith with your children? Do you at all?
- Raising Girls vs Boys. Do you have both boys and girls? Or only boys? Or only girls? Share your experience raising either.
- One Fun Memory of Your Father. What is one fun memory you have with your dad?
I look forward to seeing the stories that come out of these writing prompts. And of course, if you have other stories about fatherhood, please submit them. Thank you for reading!
