Parker Thompson is currently second in the Porsche GT3 Cup Canada. The Red Deer Alberta native needs a big weekend in Toronto to take away the momentum from a storming Romain De Angelis.

Street circuits can be incredibly hectic, and even the most experienced professionals make mistakes. Luckily for Thomspon, he has a few races under his belt at the bumpy Canadian circuit.

In 2018, Thompson finished eighth in both of the Pro Mazda races held in Toronto (now known as the Indy Pro 2000 series). Despite the mediocre finishes, this experience is a considerable asset when racing in any category.

In addition to his experience in 2018, Thompson has been ramping up his amount of track time in 2019. Competing in the Indy Pro 2000, Porsche GT3 Cup Canada, and the Porsche GT3 Cup USA will undoubtedly help him stay locked in.

That being said, rival and current leader of the both the USA and Canada Porsche Cups Roman De Angelis will be the favourite, but Parker Thompson should not be kept out of the discussion.
