The Canadian backed team has brought a significant upgrade to the Hungarian Grand Prix after coming off a somewhat successful German race. Lance Stroll picked up fourth place, but unfortunately, Sergio Perez was the first to retire in Germany.

Despite mixed emotions, Racing Point is keen to try out their new suspension upgrades at the Hungaroring. Since the track has plenty of low-speed corners, a properly functioning suspension system will keep the car stable with less air going over the aerodynamic bits.

“We did some good running this morning, but then the rain came this afternoon which limited our programme. It means we are missing quite a lot of information, but it’s the same for everybody.” — Lance Stroll

Not getting enough information while testing new parts is the last thing a Formula 1 team wants, but something is better than nothing. The team used aero measurement devices and also flow viz around the rear of the car.

Lance finished the second practice session in 16th, while his teammate finished 15th. Qualifying should be fairly interesting, especially if the rain comes into play.
