31 Positive Ideas for December: #10: Have a Candy Cane Hot Cocoa Christmas Celebration!
DIY Holiday Crafts: With Little Rosie’s Christmas Activity Corner.
The idea for this series of posts developed a few years ago. It is part of my book launch for Rosie’s Christmas Wish, a delightful story about a little girl named Rosie who loves Christmas.
I made this blog series, titled Little Rosie’s Christmas Activity Corner, to share the joy of the holiday season. I warmly present this series as a gift for all the children and others who keep Christmas dear in their hearts.
We celebrated the end of term with a Christmas party to help my kindergartners develop social skills. This is a simple Read and Feed hands-on activity that incorporates so many skills:
1. Social Skills: How to use a napkin and a placemat
2. Reading and Language Skills: Students read and discussed their books.
Today’s Activity #4. Have a Candy Cane Hot Cocoa Christmas Celebration! (This hot water activity requires parental supervision.)
Instead of a traditional tea party this Christmas, opt for this activity. Invite a friend or two for a playful celebration. If you have Rosie’s Christmas Wish or other favorite holiday books, you can read stories while enjoying your Candy Cane Cocoa.
Supplies for each person: a cup, a spoon, marshmallows, a candy cane, a cocoa mix packet, and hot water
Directions:
- Place candy cane and cocoa in a cup.
- Have an adult add hot water as directed by the cocoa instruction packet.
- Stir to mix and add marshmallows.
- Let it cool and enjoy.
*Parent Note: Please monitor your young child because items could become a safety issue. The water will be hot.
Little Rosie and I wish you a very merry creative Christmas.
May you always find the positive side of life’s bumpy road.
Adiós until next time,
