If You Lie in My Bed, I’ll Lie in Yours
Payback happens between animals, too
Pets can be territorial, but hours apart?
We’ve been dog sitting for a week. Our son gave us all his dog’s equipment, including the kennel. Although the kennel is set up in the kitchen, we haven’t used it except at the beginning of the first night.
We have a dog and a cat. They get along well enough with our grand-dog, and over the week, there have not been any major issues. But yesterday, something funny happened.
Stewart, our grand dog, sat in the cat bed by the door. Callie, our cat, wandered over and looked at him, like, “How dare you lie in my bed!”
After a few minutes, he got out, wandered away, and then wandered back after she left.
Later in the evening, I looked behind me when I was sitting on the couch. The cat was sitting in the dog’s kennel, calmly bathing herself!
She looked at me, like, “Well, he was in my bed, so what’s the big deal?” and went on cleaning herself. She made herself very comfortable in the bed, which was inside the kennel, which was the funny part.
Hours later, Callie had taken her revenge on Stewart. It was an incredible moment of territoriality and retribution!
My husband and I laughed and laughed.
