Lost On The Twisty Roads of Ireland at Night

We have been in Ireland for over a week. During that time, my husband and I have seen the Cliffs of Moher, hiked Diamond Hill in Connemara County, visited Kylemore Abbey, wandered the streets of Galway, visited castles and cathedrals, ate traditional Irish foods such as lamb stew, fish and chips, as well as bangers and mash, and visited three of Ireland’s national parks.

It’s been a great adventure. We enjoyed phase one and two of our trip. This involved three days in Galway and seven days hiking Ireland Coast to coast with Wilderness Ireland. Tomorrow is our last day with the hiking group. Lots of memories have been made — some great, and some that could be better with a do-over.

It’s our first trip of this type. We’ve learned a few things that will be part of a future article.

The last phase of our trip is visiting Dublin for three days.

All in all, it’s been a great trip.

Tonight, near Glendalough National Park, we ate at a lively restaurant but our guide missed a turn on the way back to our hotel. We had no problem with it.

It’s dark. She’s a new guide to the tour company. She realized she missed a turn indicated on the GPS. My…
