Running an AIRBNB
Is not for the faint of heart
My home is directly across from a very popular, and very attractive AIRBNB.
In all the time I have lived here, I have not experienced one problem with people who have booked in … no all-night parties, no thuggery, no noise … just people coming and going most days, to be honest.
But I have observed a few things (and no, I don’t hide behind my curtains spying on them!).
I don’t!
Just the other day when coming home from a walk, I noticed that the two garbage bins left out on the verge were piled high with refuse.
Unfortunately, some opportunistic birds had managed to pop the lid off one, opened up what once had been a whole loaf of bread, and had their fill before flying off, leaving the split package on the verge.
The AIRBNB belongs to my next-door neighbour, so the least I could do was clean up the mess the birds had left.
I picked up all the stuff that was now on the road, and was about to return it to the bin, when I noticed the actual contents of the bin … packets of meat (unopened), fruit, vegetables, and cakes, all still packaged, but carelessly tossed in the bin.
Curiosity had now got the better of me.
