The Wind

At our backs.

We like to walk in front of you
The wind at our backs
Along the road without a load
Following our tracks.

I haven’t seen where you have been
Nor have I followed in your tracks
Though, like you, I have insight
The same wind blows upon our backs.

Our senses are identical.
And we both have a clear intuition.
To know that what we feel is real.
Free of fear or supposition.

This understanding is the basis.
Of our limits and capacity
To realise our love is true.
Our understanding and perspicacity.

The tracks we walk are parallel
each experience duplicated
helps with some predictions
and is far less complicated.

So, here we go; we do not know.
Nor do we understand the reasons
Why, like the cycles of the days
We are affected by the seasons.

That which happened yesterday
It can often occur tomorrow.
So, with clear insight
We can lessen heartache and sorrow.

Are our arms long enough
And hands strong enough to hold
Onto the love given to
the brave-hearted and the bold.

So, when we walk and touch and talk
our spirits and souls soar
and our insights tell us
we couldn’t ask for more.
