Week 11: My Poet’s Path BYOB Challenge
Blogging your own book of poetry.
Tip from the Poet’s Path: Write it in your own words.
With each passing week, as I work on my Six-Step Publication Plan for the BYOB Challenge, I’m more determined to meet my publication date by October.
Now, in week 11, I continue to focus my attention on the second draft of my poetry book, The Grape Picker’s Daughter.
Last week, I finished editing the first poem, The Grape Picker’s Daughter.
Now I’m moving on to my next poem, A Cast Iron Memory of My Mamá.
Once again, I list the three points or questions that guide this BYOB Challenge. Not only do they provide me with a roadmap, but they also help build up the framework of my niche.
- “How can I effectively capture the unique aspects of being a young Hispanic girl living in the San Joaquin Valley of California through my poetry?
- How does my work contribute to developing my poetry and the success of my book’s publication?
- How can I continue to build and support my writing community?”
With each poem I revise, I envision my book finding its niche and reaching my goals.
