As the summer heat lingers on, Week 20 unfolds with the warmth and brilliant colors of the season. This week, I’m continuing my work in the second section of my BYOB Challenge The Middle Years. This part of The Grape Picker’s Daughter: A Book of Poetry captures the simple moments of life and love. The poems paint these ordinary moments in time with the many hues of love.
Last week, I included a tentative list of the poems that are part of this section in Week 19: My Poet's Path BYOB Challenge: Blogging your own book of poetry.
After reviewing the list of poems once again, number three made a better opening to this section: Where Does Love Come From? This poem probes the simple nature of this topic, moving through the nuances of the emotion and its origin.
Although the essence of love presides in the human heart. It remains intangible and invisible to the human eye. Love has the unseen power to stir the heart, leaving an enduring mark on the soul, sometimes for better or worse.
