A Green Bakery

I’ll admit I have not been impressed with island baked goods. I’m used to cakes having a massive amount of sugar in them. Local tastes are more European.

A friend who’s also from the US recommended a local bakery run by a Canadian ex-pat out of her home.

“It’s a green bakery,” she added.

My thoughts immediately went to sustainably sourced ingredients, possibly powered by alternative energy sources. This seemed rather daring for a local business, so I double checked how she was using the adjective, “green”.

“They put weed in some of the baked goods,” she clarified.

Oh! That kind of green.

I visited to buy cupcakes for Valentine’s Day, as well as fruit tarts and macrons. (All deliciously sweet.) Also, two “green” cupcakes.

You won’t get high, but you’ll have a very sound night’s sleep.
