“The best way to make children good is to make them happy.” ― Oscar Wilde

On my morning walk I noticed a woman sitting on the floor of her garage. No phone in her hand, no distractions. She was just watching her three boys ride bikes and play ball.

I was struck by it. I often see parents out with their kids, but usually they’re walking, jogging, or biking alongside them. It’s rare to see someone simply sitting still, giving their complete attention with no multitasking.

I was truly impressed by her. She seemed like such a devoted mom, fully present and happy to just be there with her kids. No performance, no rush. Just in the moment.

It was refreshing, and it reminded me how much we miss when we’re always pulled in other directions.

When was the last time you slowed down and gave someone your undivided attention?
