Photo by Chris Lawton on Unsplash

Pulled from cocooned warmth into blinding cold
Walking barefoot in a frigid, blowing January ice storm
Lonely, cocooned in the emptiness of a darkened house
Inescapable meals for one and oversized beds
Deafened by a desolate desert’s silence
An anguished abrupt conclusion to infinite torture
Autopsied whilst still breathing unable to scream
