A Thanksgiving Surprise

An early Christmas

Originally our kittens were supposed to come in early December. So we made plans to visit my brother and his wife for Thanksgiving and spend Christmas in the Caribbean with the new kittens.

That timetable got completely ruined, necessitating my cross-country kitten flight last weekend. I left my husband to help the kittens adjust (and help our cat adjust to the kittens) and went for a solo Thanksgiving visit.

When I got there, my brother and his wife revealed their big surprise. Since I wasn’t going to be there for Christmas, they’d put up all the Christmas decorations in advance. For me.

Advent calendars. Nutcrackers. Christmas tree. Christmas lights. Holiday stuffed animals, statues, and wire-frame tinsel decorations.

I even got to see some snow when we went to Vermont. It’s a proper Christmas.

And I am very thankful.
