“Success is peace of mind, which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to become the best of which you are capable.” — John Wooden

  • Success is self-defined and intrinsic, not extrinsic.
  • It’s intangible and immeasurable.
  • Self-accountability is the foundation. Our conscience is the judge. Our integrity is the touchstone.
  • Peace of mind and contentment are the ultimate rewards, not material achievements. For example, a person working sincerely to help stray and abandoned animals, the elderly, or the disabled community is highly successful in life.
  • It’s about the sincerity of the efforts, not the nature of the outcomes. A teacher or caregiver who works with dedication is an outstanding success.
  • It leads to self-actualisation. We realise our potential to serve society.

A meaningful life, on our terms, is the ultimate success.
