Anticipations Gate
Sept 21st
Sitting in the highback, gazing out into the Godless night,
The hint of fall taps outside my window.
Slowly, tears escape in weep,
In the effort to stay my heart’s inferno.
I can wait no longer in closing,
The distance of miles and company playing in loop my mind’s eye.
The season of the witch approaches,
This spell I can no longer battle.
Our love of fairytales,
Neither Romeo nor Juliet hungered more.
I wonder if you hear my heart pounding,
It’s the anticipation of our first kiss.
On our first day in starting,
The rest of our lives together.
I pray you await me,
At anticipations gate, my dream is not one of fool.
Slowly, after hour’s mourn,
I wait for sunlight, the remembrance of your eyes glimmer.
The day’s promise of opportunity,
Our hands grasp each other in love unity.
