The Daily Cuppa

Come spring, our leftover winter logs sit in a long and layered stack — some red, some white oak that doubles as bonfire wood all year round.

The wood sits on the west side of my front yard, laid on planks hoisted by cinder blocks and perfectly positioned for our annual visitors. Every year, this is where I go to watch Green Anole lizards as they temporarily empty their skins of all green to match the grades of brown in the logs.
