Confusion
When disarray finds its’ voice

A feather sweeping gently up a chalkboard
rises with patience untethered,
yet bound by the hand that drags it.
The stillness that ensues is as
palpable as the sweat
dripping from the hand that
cannot recall.
The silent gesture reaching up
suddenly knows that it can’t breathe,
too distracted by the others
it clamors desperately,
waiting.
