A hummingbird joins bumblebees to quell
their thirst for nectar in the foxglove patch.
A cat bird sings incessantly and well
as chipmunk stops to stare at me and scratch.

Look up. The greening silver maple waves
and says hello to every passing cloud.
A little over eager this tree craves
