Cut Out of A Different Piece Of Cloth

Do you ever feel like you and your sibling were cut out of a different piece of cloth? I felt like that this week.

My sister and I are both trying to take care of my dad — 87 years old — who is still in his own home. Our mom died last July. He’s doing alright.

But, Wednesday night he had shortness of breath that he could not recover from by resting. He did not call my sister, 70 miles away, but waited until morning and called his primary care physician.

Within two hours he saw a physician and was given a new prescription for an inhaler. The pharmacy showed him how to use it.

Long story short, my sister reacted as if this was a crisis. I thought he did a good job managing his healthcare.
