First Day of Winter

June the first. It’s the official start of winter Down Under in Australia. Normally it’s still warm enough to swim, but after weeks of rain, my pool is freezing so the cover has gone on.

Southerly winds are forecast and that means chilly days. The wind comes straight up from Antarctica. The temperature here is expected to drop to a minimum of 10C (50F).
