Five Minute Feels Like Eternity
When you’re waiting for your dream to come true
Six minutes to go to midnight — to my sweet sixteenth birthday. Will Ana finally notice me?
Oh, hell. I have been in love with Ana since kindergarten. She is beautiful, magical, and mysterious.
Tick, tock, the wall clock ticks. “Only five minutes to go,” it whispers into the silence — then I will meet the stranger who left a note in my locker.
“I’ll take you to places you’ve never been to at midnight, Joey. I can’t wait to meet you.”
I’m so excited… Who is it?
It’s Ana. It could only be her, I’m sure of that.
The wall clock announces midnight with a deafening tick-tock.
I hold my breath… waiting… Will she knock on my bedroom’s ground floor window?
A buzzing sound comes from the whirling wall clock as it dissolves in fog. A beautiful girl steps through the wall.
“Hi Joey, I’m your fairy godmother.”
