I told him I wouldn’t mind working at a call center myself, but I’m not confident on the phone. But I’m working on overcoming my timidity.
“I guess that’s why I decided to call rather than text you this time,” I said.
“Hmm. Can you wait a minute? I ought to tell you, I’m driving,” he said. “I’m going to park my car. Shouldn’t be talking on phone while driving.”
“I agree. Okay, I’ll wait,” I said.
After about 5 minutes, he returned to the phone and said, “Now, what were we talking about?”
“We — or I was saying I’m not confident talking on the phone with people,” I responded.
“Well, good to hear your voice,” he said.
Listening intently, I could tell he was sincere regarding what he said and was truly happy to hear me.
