Friends from Haiti came to visit me today. I get accused of picking up strays — humans, not critters.

A Cuppa and a chat with Katie. Katie’s photo.

Months back, at my favorite garden center, I met these folks. We chatted about plants and your typical gardening stuff. We had such fun. You know how it goes. You meet someone and it seems you have known each other forever.

We have been friends ever since. Out of town on their turf.

I wanted to ask about cats and dogs. I was pretty sure I knew the answers as I was an Anthropologist back in the day — until I decided not to get a PhD. I had a phd, lol.

Oh heavens, we had a blast.

There is very scary and troubling stuff going on in Haiti. I have permission to share but no. Not today.

I made a huge batch of chili.

I learned to make coffee with ginger, clove, and cinnamon. Of course, I popped a star anise in it.

Ordinary folks are amazing. You just have to share a Cuppa and a chat.
