Glitter and Water Mindfulness Exercise
To calm you when you feel stressed, sad, or angry
We make bad decisions when we’re upset. To calm down, do this.
- Fill a clear jar with water, with 2 cm space at the top.
- Add two scoops of glitter to it.
- Seal the bottle.
- Shake the bottle to mix the glitter and water.
Visualize the glitter as your thoughts when you feel stressed. As it swirls around, hard to see clearly, right?
Stay still for a few moments. Watch the jar.
The glitter starting to settle. The water turns clear.
Our minds work the same way. When we calm down, our thoughts settle. We feel calmer.
