Goldie, The Goldfish Turns 6

A Low Maintenance Companion

When my daughter turned 4, a friend gifted a fish bowl with 2 goldfish. They were thoughtfully named Goldie and Brownie.

This month we celebrated 6 years of togetherness with Goldie. She has outgrown herself and as I took this picture, I realized that her length covers 50% of our aquarium.

Goldfish are a treat to have. They teach us to be calm. I am not sure what goes on in their hearts but their body language says why the haste, don’t stress too much, swim away the miseries, and live your life with tranquility.

Brownie is no longer with us but Goldie got a new companion around 3 years back. This little wonder is named Cupcake.

Goldie and Cupcake are now living happily (ever after).
