Haven’t Had Much Snow in A While
Sunday sonnet
At last, we have a little bit of snow
as it piles up to just a little more
than four and a half inches, not, I know,
too much to speak of, but the change in store
is simply irresistible to one
who has just recently complained about
that cold, dry, windy stuff to everyone.
A change has come. I don’t have any doubt.
Though once again, I missed a warning sign
and now this transformation’s all around
the garden, crisp and clean and crystalline.
A fresh white canvas deadening the sound.
A cardinal’s bright red against the snow
in clumpy puffs. A long pine branch hangs low.
Thank You, The Daily Cuppa, for publishing these Sunday sonnets.
