BiC CLiC Xtra precise fine-tip ballpoint pens are my absolute favourite. The CLiC is the inbuilt feature to retract the nib. I loathe pens that have caps; you don’t have time for that extra step as a nurse!

Every time I go home to New Zealand, I stock up. You can get BiC pens here but I’ve never found the fine-tip ones. The bonus is their uniqueness; you cannot get away with ‘stealing’ my pen. If you find it, like it and decide to keep it for yourself, it’s only a matter of time before I notice — and look out when I do!

I will sound like Nigel the seagull from Finding Nemo. Mine! Mine! Mine!

Fun Fact: The ballpoint pen was invented by journalist László Biró in 1938 and in 1950 Marcel Bich ‘adapted and improved’ it and then named the brand BiC.
