I’ve been collecting the pieces of my life.

I write short vignettes about them to create coherence, understanding, and healing.

My life has not turned out the way I thought it would. I imagined a crescendo of realization, a peak of accomplishment, and abiding contentment. Not consciously, but the expectation lay hidden in the recesses of my mind.

Isn’t that the way it is?
