Let’s Write a Poetry Chapbook Together
Join me in the annual Writer’s Digest Poetry-a-Day Challenge
Writing prompts intimidate me.
Maybe it’s the inevitable brain blank or my hidden desire to create a masterpiece. I’m not sure, but it’s a fear I’m conquering.
Last year, I discovered the Writer’s Digest Poetry-a-Day (PAD) Chapbook Challenge.
How it works: Each day in November, Robert Lee Brewer posts a poetry prompt. In December, you assemble a chapbook and email it to Robert, who picks a winning manuscript.
In 2022, I participated and penned 26 poems. Sure, I chickened out on the submission— it sits idle on my computer’s desktop — but this year, I’ll get ‘er done.
Yesterday’s prompt:
Here’s mine:
Teddy Bear
Matted fur
scratched eye
lost limb
Clutched close
all night
over my
beating heart.
Let’s do this, Cuppa poets!
