The band onstage is playing something unremarkable.
Something instrumental.
She sets her tattered notebook on the table and digs around in her canvas bag to try and find something to use for writing.
She finds her keys, phone, a makeup case, some unused tissues, and a pack of gum.
Where is my pen?
She empties the contents of the bag onto the sticky table.
After amassing a small pile of oddities, she finally comes across a tiny yellow golf pencil she accidentally stole from the library.
She puts her stuff back in the bag.
Then she turns to an empty page in her notebook, and without realizing it, she starts to write what will become her first love note.
