Fellow Medium writers are always inspiring me to share the interesting pictures I have clicked over the years.

I read Marcus’s story of mute swan watching, and now, I have to share my experience.

Swans are rare compared to ducks.

I have seen swans in the San Diego Zoo, but spotting swans in the wilderness is a great feeling!

Near my first apartment, there was the Santa Ana River. Around it was Talbert Nature Preserve. One morning while hiking there, I spotted this lovely swan floating peacefully on the river.

Going by its reddish-orange bill, it’s a mute swan too.

They are graceful, but I learned they are very aggressive.

Swans are majestic, beautiful looking creatures. With really ugly temperaments. - Michael Gira
