My neighbour has a preschool-aged daughter, a toddler, and a new puppy.

I love seeing how their family is expanding.

I enjoy they’ve added a pet because I believe all children should grow up with a dog. They’re the best secret-keepers, bed sheet warmers, and table scrap sharers.

Sometimes, when I hear the puppy yelping, it reminds me that separation anxiety is hard.
