My Process of Repurposing a Book

Gift for husband journal

  1. Choose the book: Always hardcover. I look for spines and stitching like the photo below. I look at both size and width — how big do I want to be? How long do I want the finished project to be?
  2. Tear up the book: I usually tear a page out for every two pages I leave in. Though through working with his journal, I may start removing half.
  3. Save torn pages for a later project.
  4. Use plain scrapbook paper or cardstock to cover page.
  5. Embellish — either with words, stickers, pictures, or other pages.
  6. Complete pages one by one.
  7. (Hopefully) finish the book and gift.

Wow! Did you notice that? It was your day flying by. This publication is your place to enjoy stories of 150 words or fewer about plants and people, wild animals and pets, gardens and food, how-to and how-not-to — written to inform and delight. Did I mention humor?
