No, I’m Not Great At Everything
Confessions of a perfectionist
Over the last two days, I found out that I am not good at soldering. It is a skill, and right now, I do not possess it. I was attempting to fix a sterling silver wire bracelet that I made ten years ago.
One of my close friends purchased it. She recently told me that the connectors near the clasp keep pulling apart, leaving the bracelet insecure. She thought I could fix it — so, did I.
Since we don’t live near each other anymore, she is in Colorado and me in Wisconsin, she sent me the bracelet. I bought materials to solder the bracelet ring closed.
Soldering is a lot harder than it sounds. It’s not working. After one more shot, I’ll move on to another fix if it doesn’t work. As a perfectionist, this is bothering me.
