Okra and sunflowers can beat the heat;
To survive and thrive — it’s such a great feat!
In the Oklahoma sun beating down on your head;
That makes you wonder if you are dead and in h*ll!
What happened to the bees and pretty butterflies?
To pollinate my veggies — why, oh, why?
I need their army to nourish my garden;
If I seem upset, I beg your pardon!
I bought my plants from The Tomato Man’s Daughter;
With names like Kiowa, Cherokee, and Arkansas Traveler.
I’ll plant again come next spring and summer;
But this year sure has been a bummer!
