INSPIRATION
On a Snowy Sunday, the Pottery Shop Is Where I Want To Be
As I crack open the studio door, flip the lights on, shovel the entryway and light up the ‘Hot Cocoa’ scented candle — I consider how this doesn’t feel like a job.
January is a slow month at the pottery studio and shop where I work.
I post up at the wooden work table in the studio, feeling a twang of motivation.
The owner, like some people do, curates a pleasant space. She works hard at this and is gifted with ‘an eye’ for what looks good, what feels good.
And in return, she keeps me as an employee.
I work a full-time job in addition to this and somehow, on a Sunday, this is the only place I want to be.
It turns out, this is not only an inspiring space to throw some pottery, I can write here too.
