Once upon a time was always understood to be the opening lines to a fairy-tale.
Not history’s pitch of life before mankind’s demise.
But as with any good story of mystery and murder — creative license rules.
Typically, revealing the murderer is saved for the story’s end; but in this case, it’s understood that mankind was both the cause and effect.
Oh, we had so hoped for their survival, but even our constant monitoring and occasional interaction was not enough.
Seemingly at times, they couldn’t agree on the simplest of survival measures, monetization always trumping logic.
I freely admit they were some of our favorite pets — entertainment-wise. So much so, that the console has begun talks on the possibility of reseeding the earth with Man 2.0.
However, we fail to agree on the level of free will to be granted this time — considering the security of the universe.
