Pineapple Heaven

To our good fortune, Marise has pineapples growing everywhere. She harvests a yellow or white pineapple, slices and cubes it, and viola a delicious and nutritious dessert on a toothpick!

How to Select and Cut a Pineapple

Marise harvests her pineapples right off the stem. She replants the tops so she cuts them two inches below the green crown. One inch will normally do.

The outer rind is sliced away and any remaining little “eyelets” are removed. Thick juicy slices are cut away from the inner core and then cubed.

Pineapple Tea

The rind and core are perfect for making tea! Boil water, and add the leftovers (without the top), perhaps a clove and then simmer for 20 minutes.

If You Like It Hot

Add a little sugar and sip! Or chill it for a hot afternoon!
