Practice Mindful Doing
I tried this and really enjoyed it!
- Pick a task. Could be making coffee (my pick), sweeping a room, watering the plants, or cooking a dish.
- Break it down into detailed steps.
- Now pretend that you have to explain this to an alien or a five-year-old.
- Then, actually engage in this task mindfully, exactly as you explained it, step by step.
- Feel the joy.
A great way to calm down, focus, and maybe even check off a to-do.
