Steps to start finding & working through your triggers
- start a journal: begin by keeping a daily journal to record your thoughts and emotions
- note emotional shifts: pay attention to moments when your mood shifts. record what you were doing and how you felt before and after
- identify patterns: review your entries regularly to identify recurring patterns in your emotions or reactions
- ask why: for each entry, ask yourself why you felt a certain way. dig deeper to uncover the underlying causes
- explore childhood influences: if any triggers connect to past experiences or childhood events. sometimes, deep-seated triggers have roots in early life
- experiment with changes: once you’ve identified triggers, experiment with small changes to test their impact on your emotional responses
Healing from your negative triggers is possible!
