Someday I will bring my granddaughter to New York to attend the Westminster Dog Show.

We will share memories of man’s best friend parading in the best possible light.

I organized a successful dog show as a child to raise money for the local Humane Society, and as a teenager, I frequented local shows — high five to puppy love.

I want her to have the opportunity to admire the entrants’ beauty, to learn about each breed’s conformation…
