Sometimes we need to get our hands dirty first.

Yesterday, I asked my son if he wanted to help plant our container garden. He scrunched his face up. I took that as a “no.”

Later, during device time, he came outside and said all parents’ favorite two words: “I’m bored.” I swallowed back a sarcastic response and gestured at the potting soil and baby plants around me.
