Popping out from the clouds as we approached Heathrow, one of the first things that brought a smile to my face was seeing how lush the landscape was. It’s wonderful to see green grass, bulbs and buds sprouting, hear the birds chirp and feel warmth in the sun after months of blah.

Heading across to Europe was a reminder of just how different our Canadian weather patterns are. I truly felt bad for everyone back home as they endured [what we hope was] the last large dump of snow while I was walking around in sandals half a world away.

Berlin was particularly stunning — and not just weather-wise. My daughter and I walked for hours around the city in shorts and tees admiring the city and soaking up its culture. From blossom trees to daffodils and tulips, the place felt alive!
