Why I love my bestie for her opinion
My best friend from college and I still meet up monthly for coffee. Years have changed, but our bond hasn’t.
She chose the route of being married with an adorable daughter. I knew that wasn’t my path. I chose a dog instead.
We compare and contrast our choices. At first, I threw out qualifiers like “I know it’s nothing compared to having a human depend on you” or “It’s small in comparison but I can’t stand the way Max…”
Until she shot me down on this approach. She emphasizes the similarities.
Anytime I’d jokingly complain about how Max does things like following me into the bathroom, she laughs and tells me how Morgan does the same thing.
It’s beautiful when someone embraces our path with us.
