The Christmas card thing…
Some people use spreadsheets to keep track of cards sent last year, and cards received. And those who therefore deserve a card this year. (And those who don’t.)
Some wait for a card to arrive and immediately send one back — those being the only ones they send.
Some send a round-robin newsletter about their year; some scribble just a signature.
Some no longer send paper cards — they send email cards.
PupperJack and I sometimes run out of time and send no cards. Sometimes we send cards. We greet each card that arrives with great excitement — so much excitement in his case that I have to snatch it off him before he joyously shreds it.
