The Chronicles of the Sunflower Patch Continue

image is of a large sunflower in a nursery container; there are no flowering as yet; the buds are not ready.

There was one plant that escaped being transplanted, so it remained in the rich propagating soil; it was not that I didn’t see it, but it was small and scraggily, and I decided to let it grow a little more, if it wanted to, or return to the potting soil as organic matter.

It grew and grew and is now more than two times larger than the ones that were planted out into a garden.

It has several flower buds just waiting to burst open and shower me with delight.

The reject becomes the queen.
