Recently, I came across a eye-catching artwork displayed outside a restaurant.

After taking a quick snap, I did some research and discovered that the artwork was created by American artist Paul Rousso.

Renowned for his concept of “Flat Depth,” Rousso aims to make flat objects appear three-dimensional or condense three-dimensional objects into two-dimensional forms.

This particular artwork, titled “The Color of Cash,” showcases Rousso’s talent using a mix of techniques on special foam to create a striking representation of money. Unlike traditional currency, which typically features a usual green color, Rousso infuses vibrant hues from various currencies around the world.

Beyond its aesthetic appeal, this artwork prompts contemplation about the significance of money in our lives and society.

Rousso encourages viewers to reflect on why money is designed the way it is and what it reveals about our values.
