To become attuned to the five senses when there is no time for meditation, notice the following, preferably unusual things you normally wouldn’t notice.

  • 5 things you can see (shadows?)
  • 4 things you can feel (texture of clothes, the breeze, table surface)
  • 3 things you can hear (birdsong, fridge humming, traffic buzz)
  • 2 things you can smell (pleasant/unpleasant)
  • 1 thing you can taste (eat/drink something)

Focus on the above. Spend some time with them.

How do you feel?
