“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” — Leo Buscaglia

Many years ago, I was talking to a much older friend who was even older than my mom at the time. She was in her 80s then and lived with her daughter, son-in-law, and their family.

I remember something she shared with me that stayed with me. Her son-in-law always asked her how her day went. It meant so much to her that he took the time to ask. At her age, having someone care enough to inquire about her day was something truly special.

It made me realize just how important it is when someone cares enough to ask.
